Essential reading for serious lifters!

I purchased this e-book yesterday and devoured it in one sitting. Brooks has done it again. This is one great little book!

For a long time I have been chasing the 300/400/500 lbs mark in the 'big three' lifts, but was still falling short even after quite a few years of training. Chasing a goal that seems to elude you can become frustrating and discouraging. But the information in this book quickly set my expectations straight. I 'knew' in the back of my mind that the 300/400/500 benchmark to claim advanced status, is based on a hypothetical lifter who's under 30 years old and about 190 lbs body weight, but I hadn't been giving due importance to that fact. Since I'll soon be 41 years old, and weigh only around 160 lbs, I quickly used the body weight and age adjustment tables outlined in this book to re-align that goal to MY weight and age.

What a pleasant surprise! I discovered that I have actually already achieved and even slightly exceeded the 300/400/500 benchmarks, when adjusted to my weight and age! It's hugely motivating to know that my achievements so far are actually quite respectable, relative to my potential. And I still have room where to keep growing. I also used the adjustment factors to convert the Paschall and Hoffman benchmarks to my weight and age, and now I have a great list of challenging but realistic goals to shoot for.

All in all I loved this book. It's written in a concise, straight forward manner, with no filler or BS. And the information it provides is priceless for evaluating your progress so far, and setting good but realistic goals. Every serious lifter should have this little gem in their library!

Great Follow Up to His Enormously Popular Volume One!

I read this book after seeing Charles Poliquine's review, http://www.strengthsensei.com/where-to-find-great-strength-norms/, -- and agree whole-heartedly with his enthusiastic endorsement of it.

This book has been an Amazon No. 1 best-seller in its category.

No surprise, to me…

This book continues on where Volume One leaves off with more thoroughly researched, inspiring and motivating information.

It expands on the work started by Bob Hoffman and Harry Paschall.

I highly recommend this book because the goals are challenging, but realistic and achievable, which is so very important because it helps you avoid injury, and helps you avoid giving up in frustration because you can't achieve an impossible goal.

In addition, the methods described here are adjustable for your body weight AND your age.

Take a look -- you might be doing better than you think!
